"COSTARS" is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's cooperating purchasing program. The COSTARS approach to cooperative purchasing uses the purchasing power of local entities, to obtain more competitive pricing and choice than individual purchasers might be able to obtain on their own.
COSTARS members enjoy the following benefits:
• Dollar Savings: Volume purchasing results in lower prices; using established state contracts eliminates the need for specification development; advertising, printing, mailing and bid evaluation.
• Convenience: Using state contracts facilitates the purchase of goods and services by simply issuing a purchase order to the state contract supplier of record.
• Flexibility and Variety: A broad selection of commodities and suppliers is offered to more than 5550 program members. More than 200 state contracts, with a pool of more than 3400 suppliers, are currently available for use by participants.
Fromm Electric is proud to be a participating supplier in the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS) bid/contract program.
Our participation is currently focused on bid/contract, “COSTARS-8” (Maintenance, Repair, Operation Equipment & Supplies). However, we may add additional contract offerings in the future, so check back often!
Fromm has currently partnered with Osram Sylvania, Hoffman Enclosures and Hubbell Wiring, but additional vendors will be added throughout the year!
