Save More with Utility Rebates
Pennsylvania's major electric utilities are required by Act 129 to run energy efficiency programs that pay customers to upgrade. The current program phase, Phase V, began June 1, 2026 and runs through May 31, 2031. That means five years of funded opportunity, with incentive tables that refresh along the way.
Fromm partners with PPL Electric, PECO, and FirstEnergy Pennsylvania (Met-Ed, Penelec, Penn Power, and West Penn Power) to help customers capture that money.
Incentives are currently available for:
- Interior and exterior lighting
- Lighting controls and occupancy sensors
- HVAC systems and heat pumps
- Variable frequency drives
- Compressed air systems
- Refrigeration and food service equipment
- Agricultural equipment and horticultural lighting
- Data centers
Two ways to capture an incentive:
Instant Discounts. For qualifying retrofit products, the incentive comes off at the point of purchase. No application, no waiting for a check. You provide your utility account number and installation address at the time of order, and the discount is applied to the invoice.
Prescriptive and Custom Incentives. For larger projects, new construction, or measures that fall outside the standard product list, incentives are applied for and paid after installation. These carry more paperwork and longer timelines, which is exactly where our team earns its keep.
Worth knowing before you plan a project: Incentive programs have rules that surprise people. Replacing existing LED equipment with new LED equipment generally does not qualify. Instant Discount programs cover retrofits only, not new construction. Equipment usually must be installed within 90 days of purchase. Larger lighting projects require pre-approval before the work begins. Getting these details wrong can cost a project its incentive. Getting them right is our job.
