Fromm Receives L.V. Community Partner Award

Fromm is honored to receive the Lehigh Valley Community Partner Award in recognition of our involvement in the Restaurant Relief Fund grant from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. This initiative, spearheaded by the Chamber, assisted 109 businesses during the pandemic shutdown and associated restrictions on local restaurants.

"Partners like Capital BlueCross, Boyle Construction, Dellicker Strategies, Embassy Bank, Fromm Electric and others didn’t hesitate when we asked them to pitch in," said Lorie Reinert, Executive Director of the Chamber Foundation.

The money raised helped qualified restaurants with rent, payroll, and other operating expenses.

The award announcement was originally scheduled for 2021, but due to Covid-19 delays, it was jointly presented this year by the United States Senate, the Senate of Pennsylvania, and the County of Northampton. "I'm proud of our team for supporting our fellow businesses at a time when we were all facing hardship and uncertainty," said Lou Fromm, Vice President of Business Development. "As a family-owned and operated company, we feel it’s important to be engaged in the communities where we do business.”

This sounds like a dimmer-to-LED lamp compatibility issue – which can cause lamp flickering when dimmers are not rated to work with LED sources. You will need a dimmer that is rated to work with LED lamp styles and loads. Feel free to call me and I can recommend several options to eliminate your flicker!

Seeing the BATT light on is a big deal and means your CPU battery in your PLC is failing, which could result in losing your PLC program. You should upload the program from the PLC as soon as possible or risk losing it and needing to rebuild the project from scratch.

Habitat for Humanity of Berks County has honored Fromm with its annual Distinguished Partner Award.

Presented each year during the non-profit's Birdhouse Challenge fundraiser, it is awarded to individuals or corporations who partner with Habitat for Humanity in a significant way. CEO Michael Fromm accepted the award.

Fromm Lights Up Some of Allentown's Sculptures

The Allentown Arts Commission has initiated a public-private partnership to light up some of the City of Allentown, PA’s public art! Through a collaboration between the Allentown Arts Commission, Fromm, and City of Allentown’s Department of Parks and Recreation, the new initiative has shed light on some of the city’s long-standing sculptures.

Locations for the lighting project, funded through the Public Art and Activation Program, were strategically chosen to create high visibility and high impact. The first two sculptures being showcased, the “Archommage” sculpture located at Ott and Hamilton streets and the “Balancing Log” sculpture located at 15^th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, are only the beginning of a larger lighting initiative by the Allentown Arts Commission.

The Allentown Arts Commission believes the arts have the capability to connect people of all cultures, religions, and social-economic backgrounds like no other. Public art has the capability to grow and expand at an organic pace, piece-by-piece to create a connection where diversity does not apply. It breeds innovation, connection, and inclusion.

"We are so thankful for the partnership with Fromm to help the City's beautiful assets 'come to light.' With the encouragement of our community, our goal is to grow the program and light a few more up each year!" said Jane Heft, Allentown Arts Commission Chair.

Since 2020, the Public Art and Activation Program has led to the installation of more than 20 new public art projects throughout the City of Allentown. Intersecting with this initiative, the program has also sponsored the lighting of existing public art throughout the city.

As the Allentown Arts Commission continues to support lighting projects throughout the city, future projects will further these goals while also activating more accessible and pedestrian-friendly spaces. Working with a local business to implement the lighting project allowed a seamless implementation process.

Fromm was involved in the earliest stages of conceptualizing the lighting projects, bringing sample landscape lighting fixtures onsite to the sculpture located at 15th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to perform a live test for the Allentown project leaders and members of the Allentown Arts Commission. The fixtures were tested in different settings to choose the best option for several sculpture locations.

The Allentown Arts Commission looks forward to continuing to promote the arts and culture of the City of Allentown by activating existing public art and creating new and engaging experiences throughout Allentown.

Fromm President John Hanna spoke at the Spring Network Meeting of Affiliated Distributors (AD) Electrical Division held April 26-28 in Orlando, Fla.

Hanna, who serves as AD Electrical-U.S. divisional board chair, addressed the group in the U.S. member business meeting and communicated a streamlined process and plan to enhance the division's governance structure to be more nimble and collaborative and put the power of AD to work on behalf of its members.

“We are developing a strategy to maximize and enhance your AD experience, which includes a strategic decision-making board that will drive efficiencies and speed in a quick-moving and changing time in the industry,” Hanna said. “Your voice needs to be heard through participation in surveys, network groups, governance and program engagement.”
