VFD Installation, Start-Up, and Migration Services

As an authorized Allen-Bradley distributor, Fromm supplies the full PowerFlex line of variable frequency drives, from PowerFlex 520-series component drives to the 750-series family. Our specialists help you select the right drive for the application, whether you are building a new production line, replacing a failed unit, or planning a migration off drives Rockwell has discontinued.

Many manufacturers, contractors, and municipal facilities do not have the in-house expertise or the available hours to install, program, and commission VFDs properly. A drive that is sized correctly but programmed poorly still costs you energy, uptime, and motor life. That is where our services division comes in.

VFD Services Are Delivered Through FrommConnect

FrommConnect is Fromm's services division, staffed by factory-trained technicians who handle drive work from selection through commissioning:

  • Start-up and commissioning. Drives installed, programmed, and tested correctly from day one. Factory-certified start-up also qualifies your drive for extended warranty coverage.
  • Conversion and migration. Move off discontinued drives, including PowerFlex 4, 40, and Bulletin 160 units, to current PowerFlex 520-series or 750-series models with programs converted and integrated into your existing system.
  • Turn-key installation. FrommConnect evaluates the application, removes the existing drive, installs the replacement, and programs it.
  • Pre-programmed drives. Receive drives configured to your specifications, with your existing programs backed up and stored so you are never rebuilding from scratch after a failure.
  • Packaged drives. NEMA-rated, UL-compliant assemblies built for your environment and ready to deploy.

Rockwell discontinued the PowerFlex 4, 40, and 40P as of June 30, 2025. If those drives are still running critical equipment in your facility, FrommConnect can build a migration plan before a failure builds it for you.
