As employees return to offices, students and teachers return to schools, and community members venture out to public spaces, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems offers a way to increase safety and decrease virus spread. New Touchless Lighting Controls can control lighting via motion, voice commands, or a mobile app to eliminate the need for physical contact with devices.

Based on preferences, occupancy, and how spaces will be used, Hubbell offers a variety of touchless control solutions.

Motion-Activated Occupancy Sensors can replace existing switches, controlling lighting automatically when people enter/exit a room without any adjustments needed. They automatically adapt to the environment.

Different options are available to cover a wide variety of spaces, with dual passive infrared (PIR) and ultrasonic sensing (US) technologies to accurately sense the presence of motion. Patented Adaptive Technology constantly monitors the controlled area and adjusts sensitivity based on patterns and environmental history.

iDevices® Voice/Mobile Device Controls allow you to control an entire room or area of a home through Hubbell’s Smart Home Devices. Lights can be managed through a personal device (smartphone or tablet) or Amazon Alexa voice technology. Scheduling options are also available so lights can automatically turn on/off based on daily schedules.

“Light switches are a high touchpoint in any environment,” says Michael Freney, product manager for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “Using motion-activated or voice and mobile device controls lets building managers and homeowners limit contact points, increase safety, and minimize exposure and virus spread.”
