Product Updates

46CLR ColorSight True Color Sensor

The 5069-Serial Interface Module provides two independent channels that function as network interfaces such as ASCII, RS-232, RS485, and Modbus RTU.

The independent channels can transmit and receive data from serial devices using Generic ACCII, Modbus RTU (Master/Slave), or Modbus ASCII (Master/Slave). This module supports all DF1 and DH485 protocol to support legacy migration from existing SLC, 1769-L3xE, and 1768-L4x systems.

Learn more about the 5069-Serial Interface Module here

You can also contact Kim Phung at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4451 for more information.

5069 Serial Interface Modules

The 46CLR is a color sensing solution featuring distance correction technology capable of confirming consistent color detection at ranges up to 65 mm.

Additional features include internal storage of up to seven colors and nine adjustable tolerance levels for optimal application flexibility, as well as embedded IO-Link functionality that easily integrates into The Connected Enterprise.

Learn more about the 46CLR ColorSight True Color Sensor line here.

You can also contact Chris Carlson at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4453 for more information.

5069 Serial Interface Modules

Protect your motors and avoid unplanned downtime due to motor failure. The E100 accurately measures a motor’s current load, models its temperature, and can de-energize the motor to help minimize potential equipment damage due to overheating.

The E100 overload relay is part of the Rockwell Automation integrated motor control system. It can mount directly to bulletin 500 NEMA contactors and 100-C IEC contactors up to 100 A. The E100 basic model has two user-adjustable trip class settings of 10 and 20.

Learn more about the E100 Electronic Motor Overload Relay here.

You can also contact Andy Gates at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4457 for more information.

Product Obsolescence & Migration

E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relay

Rockwell Automation has announced that effective April 2021, the E1 Plus Electronic Overload Relay will be discontinued and no longer available. The E100 Electronic Overload Relay (see above) will serve as a functional replacement for the E1 Plus.

Learn more about the E1 Plus migration plan here. You can also review the life cycle status of any Allen-Bradley product here

You can also contact Andy Gates at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4457 for more information.

Ultra 3000 Servo Drives

Rockwell Automation has announced that effective January 2021, the Ultra 3000 Servo Drive product family will be discontinued and no longer available.

You can learn more about our recommended migration options for Ultra3000 Digital Servo Drives to Kinetix 300 to Kinetix 350 Servo Drives here and about migration options for Ultra3000 Digital Servo Drives to Kinetix 5500 Servo Drives here. You can also review the life cycle status of any Allen-Bradley product here

You can also contact Kim Phung at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4451 for more information.

ControlNet Status Change

Customers can now optimize their asset utilization better using EtherNet/IP protocol than with ControlNet.

This is, in part, because tools and skilled technicians are more widely available for EtherNet/IP than for ControlNet. Lifecycle management will also be more achievable with EtherNet/IP than with ControlNet, as EtherNet/IP products will be available for a much longer time period.

Although many ControlNet products will remain available for years, new installations should utilize EtherNet/IP because ControlNet products are moving from Active to Active Mature status.

You can contact Kim Phung for more info on EtherNet/IP at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4451.

CompactLogix Bulletin 1769-L3x and 1768-L4x

Rockwell Automation has announced that as of December 20, 2020, a few CompactLogix Bulletin 1769-L3x controllers have been discontinued and are no longer available. On July 1, 2020, several CompactLogix Bulletin 1768-L4x controllers will also be discontinued.

We recommend migrating to the CompactLogix 5380 controller (Bulletin 5069) or the CompactLogix 5370 controller (Bulletin 1769). Similar to the CompactLogix 1769- L3x controllers, the CompactLogix 5380 and 5370 controllers offer serial communications, better performance, increased security, and more memory.

You can review the life cycle status of any Allen-Bradley product here.

You can contact Josh Williams for more information at

[email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4458.

Training Advisor

Rockwell Automation will be closing the Training Advisor platform on April 30, 2020.

Although there is no replacement offering slated for 2020, Rockwell Automation is investigating how it will continue to deliver training, whether it be through e-learning channels or instructor-led.

You can also contact Kathy Tuttle at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4452 for more information.

Stratix 8000/8300

Rockwell Automation has announced the Stratix 8000 and Stratix 8300 modular managed Ethernet switches will be discontinued and no longer available for sale as of November 30, 2020

If a modular product is not required, we recommend migrating to the Stratix 5700 and/or Stratix 5400. If your line requires a modular product or if you prefer it, we recommend migrating to the Stratix 5800.

You can review the life cycle status of any Allen-Bradley product here.

You can contact Josh Williams for more information at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4458.

<a href= "https://technitab.com/industrial_automation_and_control'> Your write up put the light on this topic very efficiently. It is apt that the use of automation reduces the errors associated with human error. Also, unlike humans, robots don't exhaust themselves, so they produce products of uniform quality at various times.</a>
