The intent of this communication is to establish an update on Rockwell-related news, events, and information. Please join us to learn more about how Rockwell is moving the industry toward modernization and the Connected Enterprise.
COVID-19 Coronavirus Update
Fromm is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 Coronavirus situation, and we are committed to keeping our associates and business partners healthy and safe as things evolve. Equally as important as keeping everyone safe, is ensuring that we are continuing to be easy to conduct business with.
Fromm's industrial automation team can conduct meetings remotely using the Zoom video-conferencing software platform. Please contact one of our associates for more information on how we can continue to hold meetings, perform product updates, and provide technical assistance and product selection remotely.
Authorized Services
Fromm is a Rockwell Automation Authorized Service Provider, which enables our sales team to deliver valuable services that help our customers improve operational productivity, worker safety, and network connectivity. The following provides an overview of some of our service offerings.
VFD Installation & Migration
Benefits of this service:
- Help ensure on-time production
- Improve equipment operation
- Reduce risk of performance problems and premature equipment failures
- Reduce total maintenance costs
Many small to mid-size industrial manufacturers do not have the inhouse expertise or time to properly install or service VFDs. Whether you are setting up a new production operation, proactively upgrading a manufacturing line to avoid failure, or dealing with a product replacement after failure, Fromm has the VFD expertise required to help you accomplish your goal. We are unique because as an electrical products and authorized Rockwell Automation distributor, we can supply you with both the VFD and the extensive knowledge and industry experience needed to improve your equipment operations. Fromm specializes in VFD start-up, conversion, turn-key migration, and pre-programmed drive services.
For more information, contact us at [email protected] or 800.360.4441.
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Benefits of this service:
- Keep employees safe and properly trained
- Keep your company in compliance with OSHA 1910.147
Lockout/tagout (LOTO) is one of OSHA’s annual top ten most-cited safety violations. The fines resulting from these violations cost U.S.-based companies hundreds of thousands of dollars. Citations can be easily avoided by developing a program to protect your employees while they are working around industrial machinery. Fromm’s team of experts is prepared to work with you to implement or assess machine safety programs to make your employees’ safety a number one priority and keep your operation OSHA compliant.

48CR Code Reader

The new Allen-Bradley® 48CR Code Reader from Rockwell Automation is the smallest industrial code reader on the market. The rugged 48CR decodes 1D/2D and Direct Part Marked (DPM) codes and solves the most challenging readings under any condition. Featuring the latest decoding algorithms technology, the 48CR can successfully read damaged and incomplete symbols despite scenarios with poor prints, scratches or various obstructions. The 48CR supports Ethernet/IP™ and can be configured through either the Studio 5000 Logix Designer® Add-On Profile (AOP) or the embedded WebConnect visual browser.

843ES CIP Safety Over EtherNet/IP Encoders

843ES CIP Safety over EtherNet/IP™ Encoders are designed for safety applications that require speed, direction, or position monitoring safety functions. These encoders support the GuardLogix® controller-based safety functions, according to IEC 61800-5-2, in the Studio 5000 Logix Designer® application. By providing auxiliary feedback directly through an EtherNet/IP network on CIP Safety, it makes it easier to achieve the desired safety integrity or performance level by reducing the number of components needed and utilizing the already available advanced drive safety instructions.

Migration Of The 140A To The New 140MP

The 140A product line will no longer be available for sale after October 2020. Now is the time to migrate to the new 140MP. Bulletin 140MP Motor Protection Circuit Breakers (MPCBs) or Motor Protective Switching Devices (MPSD) provide magnetic short circuit and thermal overload protection up to 32 A. They are tested in combination with Allen-Bradley® Bulletin 100-C and 100- K contactors to create two component motor starters.
You can learn more about the migration here and read Rockwell Automation's 140A Product Lifecycle Announcement here. Learn more about the new 140MP Motor Protection Circuit Breaker here.
You can contact Andy Gates for more info on EtherNet/IP at [email protected] or 800.360.4441 ext. 4457.
